Toyota is one of the best-selling car brands in Denmark, and many newer models — for example Yaris, Corolla, C-HR, RAV4 and bZ4X — can have Toyota Safety Sense. The system’s camera sits at the windshield, so it matters both which glass is fitted and what happens to the camera afterwards.
What Toyota says about the windshield and the camera
Toyota describes features such as the Pre-Collision System, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Automatic High Beams and Road Sign Assist as relying on the forward-facing camera on the windshield, and the camera’s placement in the glass as essential for those features to work as intended. Toyota’s owner’s manual also states that the front camera must be recalibrated after the windshield has been replaced.

What we need to quote your Toyota
- The registration number. We use it to look up model, year and variant, so we don’t have to guess which glass the car has.
- Photos of the damage — ideally one close-up and one from further back, so we can see where on the glass it is.
- A photo of the area behind the rear-view mirror, if you can. That is typically where the camera and sensors sit, and it helps us confirm the equipment.
- Your answers about equipment in the quote wizard (camera, rain sensor, heated windshield, head-up display). If you’re unsure, answer “don’t know” — that’s better than a guess.
Equipment that can change which glass fits
Two Toyotas of the same model can have different windshields. It depends on, among other things, whether the car has Toyota Safety Sense and which version, whether there is a rain and light sensor, and whether the car has a head-up display. With a head-up display, the glass must be designed for it. That’s why we confirm the equipment from the registration number and your photos before quoting.
How the replacement works
We replace the glass as a mobile service at the address you give us, when conditions on site allow the bonding work. After the replacement, we clarify what Toyota’s instructions require for your car. If your car needs calibration, our own team carries it out at a separate, suitable location — not at your address. The location, logistics and price are agreed with you before anything is booked.
Frequently asked questions about Toyota
Does the camera need calibrating when the windshield is replaced on my Toyota?
Toyota’s owner’s manual states that the front camera must be recalibrated after a windshield replacement. In the quote, we tell you how this is handled for your specific car and what it includes.
How do you know whether my Toyota has Toyota Safety Sense?
We look the car up from the registration number and compare it with your answers and photos. A photo of the area behind the rear-view mirror helps a lot, because that is where the camera sits.
Do you replace glass on Toyota hybrids and EVs?
Yes. The drivetrain doesn’t change the glass replacement itself — the glass’s equipment is what determines the job. Read more about EV glass.
Can a stone chip on my Toyota be repaired instead?
Often yes, if the damage is small and not in the camera’s field of view or the driver’s direct line of sight. See stone chip repair, or send us a photo.
