Here are answers to what customers ask us most often before they accept a quote. The answers are general — the final quote is always based on your car and your damage. If you can’t find the answer, call 31 62 23 38 or write to kontakt@autorudeexpress.dk.
Quote and request
What do I need to get a quote?
The car’s registration number, a short description of the damage, the address where the car is, and your contact details. Photos of the damage and of the area behind the rear-view mirror aren’t required, but they make the quote more precise.
Do I get a price straight away?
No. The quote wizard is a request. We check which glass the car needs, whether it can be sourced and how the job can be scheduled, and then come back with a specific quote. See the whole process on How it works.
Am I committing to anything by sending a request?
No. You decide once you have seen the quote.
What if I don’t know my car’s equipment?
Answer “don’t know” in the quote wizard. We look the car up from the registration number and ask if anything is unclear. A wrong guess can mean ordering glass that doesn’t fit.
Price and payment
How much does a new windshield cost?
It depends on the car and the glass’s equipment — such as camera, sensors, heating and head-up display — on the work itself, and on whether the car needs calibration. That’s why we don’t publish fixed prices. See what the price consists of on Prices and payment.
Is calibration included in the price?
Only if your quote says so. If calibration is needed, it appears in the quote or is agreed separately, including location and logistics.
How do I pay?
How and when you pay is stated in your quote and invoice. If you have questions about payment, contact us before you accept.
Can the price change along the way?
We only start once you have approved the scope and price. If the car turns out to have different equipment than stated, we contact you and agree how to proceed before continuing.
Insurance
Does my insurance cover the glass damage?
If you have comprehensive cover or separate glass cover, the damage may be fully or partly covered. What you pay yourself depends on your policy and excess. Read more on Insurance.
What should I tell you about my insurance?
The insurer, and the policy or claim number if you have already reported the damage. Your own share and the payment are clarified before the work is carried out.
Do you invoice the insurer directly?
Only if that is agreed and approved for your specific claim. Otherwise we agree in advance how payment works and what documentation you’ll need for the insurer.
The replacement itself
Do you come to me?
Yes. We’re a mobile service without a physical workshop and come to the address you give us in Copenhagen and about 50 km around it. See Mobile glass service.
What does the place where the car is parked need?
Space around the car, a firm and reasonably level surface, and permission for the car to stand there for the whole job. The weather must allow bonding — if conditions are not right, we agree another time or place.
What if it rains or freezes?
Bonding needs suitable conditions. We assess the weather and the site, and would rather move the job than compromise on the installation.
When can you come?
It depends on whether the glass for your car has to be sourced, and on scheduling. You’ll get a specific suggested time with the quote.
Do I need to be present?
We agree the practicalities with you — such as access to the car and key, and when we go through the work with you afterwards.
ADAS calibration
What is ADAS calibration?
An adjustment of the car’s camera and sensors so the driver assistants keep reading the road correctly after a windshield replacement. Read more on ADAS calibration.
Do you calibrate at my address?
No. The glass is replaced at your location, but our own team carries out the calibration at a separate, suitable location. The location, logistics and price are agreed before anything is booked.
Does every car need calibrating after a replacement?
No. It depends on the car’s equipment and the manufacturer’s instructions. The quote tells you whether it applies to your car.
After the replacement
When can I drive the car?
It depends on the adhesive used and the conditions on the day. At handover we tell you when the car can be driven and what to look out for.
What should I look out for in the first days?
Follow the specific advice you get at handover. If you notice leaks, wind noise or anything else that doesn’t seem right, contact us.
Warranty
Do you give a warranty?
Yes. We give a 2-year warranty on installation and watertightness from handover of the completed work. It applies in addition to your statutory rights. See Quality and warranty.
What doesn’t the warranty cover?
For example new stone chips, accidents, vandalism and damage not caused by the installation. Defects in the glass product itself are handled separately.
Cars and glass
Do you replace glass on EVs and vans?
Yes, on all car brands. See EV glass, van glass and car brands.
Do you also replace side and rear windows?
Yes. See side windows and rear windows.
Can my stone chip be repaired instead of replacing the glass?
Often, if it’s small and not in the driver’s direct line of sight or near the edge. See stone chip repair or send a photo.
