An electric vehicle has the same types of glass as any other car: windshield, side windows and rear window. The difference is rarely the drivetrain — it is the equipment. Many newer EVs have a driver-assistance camera behind the windshield, a rain and light sensor, heating or a head-up display. We replace glass on electric vehicles of all brands as a mobile service in Copenhagen and roughly 50 km around it.
The right glass for your car
Two cars of the same model can have different windshields depending on their equipment level. We therefore start from the license plate and the car’s actual equipment. Differences that can matter include:
- camera bracket and camera area behind the windshield
- head-up display, which requires glass designed for HUD
- heated windshield or a heated wiper area
- rain and light sensor
- acoustic or tinted glass
Whether the specific glass is available, and when, is checked for each car before we agree a time. We don’t keep glass in stock — the right glass is ordered for your car once you have accepted the quote.
The replacement itself happens at your location
We replace the glass as a mobile service at an address agreed with you — at home, at work or wherever the car is. The job requires space around the car, firm and reasonably level ground, and weather that allows bonding. If conditions aren’t right, we agree another time or place.
Calibration happens elsewhere
Whether the camera needs calibrating after a glass replacement depends on the car and the manufacturer’s instructions — not on the car being electric. When calibration is needed, our own team carries it out — but not at your address. Calibration takes place at a separate, suitable location, and we agree the location, logistics and price with you before anything is booked. Read more on our ADAS calibration page.
Insurance and quote
Glass damage on an EV is handled as on any other car: cover and excess depend on your policy. Read more on our insurance page. You always receive a quote with the agreed scope and price before we start — see prices and payment.

Frequently asked questions about electric vehicles
Do all EVs need calibration after a windshield replacement?
No. It depends on the car’s equipment and the manufacturer’s instructions. If there is a camera behind the windshield, calibration is often relevant — but it’s the equipment, not the motor, that decides.
Do you replace glass on all EV brands?
Yes, we cover all car brands. Whether the specific glass is available, and which equipment it must fit, is checked for each car.
Can you replace the windshield on a car with a head-up display?
Yes. The glass must be designed for a head-up display — otherwise the image can appear doubled. We take that into account when we source the glass.
