Mercedes-Benz is both one of the best-selling car brands in Denmark and a common sight among vans such as the Sprinter and Vito. What many of these vehicles have in common is that the driver-assistance camera sits in the windshield — and that some need one specific type of glass.
What Mercedes-Benz says
The Mercedes-Benz operator’s manual states that the camera for, for example, Lane Keeping Assist is mounted at the top of the windshield, that vehicles with a head-up display are equipped with a special windshield, and that the rain and light sensor sits behind the windshield. Following damage to the windshield, Mercedes-Benz recommends having the configuration and operation of the camera system checked at a qualified specialist workshop.

What we need to quote your Mercedes-Benz
- The registration number. We use it to look up model, year and variant, so we don’t have to guess which glass the car has.
- Photos of the damage — ideally one close-up and one from further back, so we can see where on the glass it is.
- A photo of the area behind the rear-view mirror, if you can. That is typically where the camera and sensors sit, and it helps us confirm the equipment.
- Your answers about equipment in the quote wizard (camera, rain sensor, heated windshield, head-up display). If you’re unsure, answer “don’t know” — that’s better than a guess.
Equipment that can change which glass fits
If the car has a head-up display, the glass must be the special type Mercedes-Benz describes. The camera, rain and light sensor and any heating also affect which glass fits. Equipment on vans can vary a lot from vehicle to vehicle, so please send photos of both the damage and the area behind the rear-view mirror.
How the replacement works
We replace the glass as a mobile service, including vans at the workplace, when there is space around the vehicle and the weather allows bonding. After the replacement, we make sure the camera system is checked and calibrated if needed. If your car needs calibration, our own team carries it out at a separate, suitable location — not at your address. The location, logistics and price are agreed with you before anything is booked.
